Overview of past and future PSOGI-meetings
The biennial meeting of the PSOGI has occurred over the last 20 years.
1998 – The first PSOGI-meeting in Basingstoke, England with Bill Heald and Paul H. Sugarbaker as Conference Directors.
June 1-2, 2000 – The Millennial Masterclass “Prevention and Treatment of Peritoneal Dissemination of Gastrointestinal Cancer” was held at the Royal College of Surgeons. Conference Chairpersons were Bill Heald and Paul H. Sugarbaker.
2002 – The meeting returned to Basingstoke, England. The Conference Coordinator was Brendan Moran.
December 2-4, 2004 – The Fourth International Workshop on Peritoneal Surface Malignancies was held in Madrid, Spain. The Conference Organizer was Santiago Gonzalez-Moreno. The meeting was immortalized as a SPECIAL ISSUE of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology on “Peritoneal Surface Malignancy (EJSO 32, August 2006).
2006 – The biennial meeting was held in Uppsala, Sweden with Haile Mahteme and Lars Pahlmann as the Conference Coordinators.
December 2008 – The Fifth Workshop on Peritoneal Surface Malignancies was held in Milan, Italy. The Conference Coordinator was Marcello Deraco. This meeting focused on the Delphi approach to attain a consensus in the local-regional therapy for peritoneal surface malignancy. The conference was immortalized by a SPECIAL ISSUE of the Journal of Surgical Oncology which was dedicated to the Fifth International Consensus Meeting on Peritoneal Surface Malignancies Treatment (September 2008).
November 17-19, 2010 – The Sixth International Workshop on Peritoneal Surface Malignancy was held in Lyon, France. The Conference Organizers were Olivier Glehen and Francois Gilly. The conference was immortalized by a SPECIAL ISSUE of the Cancer Journal, The Journal of Principles and Practice of Oncology. The Special Issue was devoted to the management of peritoneal carcinomatosis from colorectal and appendiceal malignancy.
2012 – The Eight International Meeting was held in Berlin. The Conference Coordinator was Pompiliu Piso.
October 9-11, 2014 – The Ninth International Congress was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Course Director was Vic Verwaal.
November 17-19, 2016 – The 10th International Meeting will be held in Washington, DC. The Course Director is Paul H. Sugarbaker.
2018 – The meeting is scheduled to be held in Paris, France. The Course Directors are Diane Goere, Marc Pocard, and Olivier Glehen.
2020 – Date and place is not yet available.
